Make Money Online Scams are Everywhere
It is very common these days to look for ways to earn some amount of cash online. Sadly some fall into fraud traps like "buy this and get that for free only for $xx.xx", only to get their credit card information and eventually suck all that their credit cards have. There are those that will make you believe that you can really earn by just clicking through links and ads. There are tons of more stuff like these around the internet and I tell you, they all sound promising!

As someone who has been broke and not an internet type of guy back in 2010, I too fell to these traps. Luckily I do not have a credit card that maybe pissed those online burglars off. I spent hours and days and weeks and months online, hoping to find ways to earn some cash coz I am in desperate need. Back then I just got married and I don't have a job.

If you are someone who are thinking of selling a product or service online, you might have thought of buying your self a website thinking that once you already have one then people will start visiting it and buy your stuff. Well I am so sorry to disappoint you, but having a website, no matter how fancy and elegant it may be, is just not enough. What good is a flashy website if no one knows about it. This is when you need to do SEO, Search Engine Optimization, simply to say that doing SEO will make your website popular and more visible to your targetted custumers. SEO has 2 parts, one is called the On-Page SEO and the other is the Off-Page SEO.

On-Page SEO basically is how you present your website; how fast does it load, how user-friendly is it, are clickable buttons put in the right places, does the colors matched, etc.

Off-Page SEO on the other hand is about the number and types of links that point back to your website, the consistency of the amount of these links etc.

This is my first making money online opportunity. I was employed by my SEO expert friend to do the link buiding for his clients that own websites. Although he is from Utah and I am from the Philippines, I still get paid every month through Paypal and/or Xoom. My work as a link builder has opened my eyes on other opportunities to earn online. Because of creating forum accounts and commenting on people's blog (these are all part of link building work), I was introduced to affiliate marketing. Basically affiliate marketing is selling other people's stuff. You do this by writing a review of the product that you are promoting or write an authority(ly)-kind-of-article that has your affiliate link. Once the reader of your article click to check out your product and decided to buy it you get a certain % of commission from the owner of the product.

This is how you do Affiliate Marketing

First is you got to find a product to promote. - Ask your friends that have products or services and offer to promote them or Visit ClickBank.com for products that you can promote.

Second is to write a review or something related to the product you have chosen. - An article that has 350 to 500 words is good enough, it is not too short to appear promotional and not too long to make your reader bored.

The third thing to do is to publish your article. - You can do this by creating accounts on search engine friendly web 2.0 properties like Hubpages.com and Squidoo.com.

Fourth is to make your article popular. - If you have a Facebook account, post the link of your published article to your wall or share it with your friends. Tweet and brag about it. Look for blogs that talk about stuff related to your article and product and leave sensible comments plus the link to your article.

Stone age has long been gone and we are now living in the information age period. We all love new information and are so eager to share it with others. Blogging is one cool way to do it. It is an avenue of expressing one's opinion and thoughts. Everyday hundreds and thousands of people blog about what they eat, their cats and dogs and other weird facts about their lives. But do you know that you can also make a living blogging? I have come accross Carl Ocab a teenage blogger from the Philippines who started making money through his blog when he was 13 years old. Heck yeah he was just a Kid when he started making money online. In fact if you do a Google search for the phrase "Make Money Online" you will see his website right at the very top.

So how do you make some chaching!! blogging?
By putting ads on it (google adsense) you'll have a sure $$ everytime people click on these ads. I know it sounds scammy to be paid by advertisers by just having your blog visitors click on these ads but it is real. Infact people like Carl Ocab earns four to five digit of $$$ monthly through this ads program. I too managed to earn some cash through it. Pretty cool huh!?
Affiliate products. Indeed affiliate marketing can still be done through your own blog. Just follow the above steps in promoting affiliate products (less the posting to web 2.0 properties but to your blog) and you can sure earn a decent amount too.

Selling your own product. Selling shirts and books and other stuff on your blog may not be your primary reason that you put up your blog but earning some cash in doing so will sure not hurt at all. Imagine the followers of your blog who fanatically praise every content you post, do you not see them buying whatever it is you will offer?

Being now a little techy and having the understanding of SEO, I bought my own domain and started offering website design. This one took me a little while to figure out but I finally did. Using Wordpress as a flatform with its features and user-friendly plugins is one sure way you can design a slick website. To do a website design, well... ahhm watch youtube videos, that's how I've learned it. The same as designing logos ;)

Mac Vs Linux

After delivering benchmarks last week that were comparing the Intel Sandy Bridge performance of Mac OS X 10.7 "Lion" vs. Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" when it came to the Sandy Bridge OpenGL graphics performance, here's a comparative look at the performance of Ubuntu 11.10 against Mac OS X 10.7.2 from the Intel Sandy Bridge-based Mac.

The same system is being used as last weeks article: the mid-2011 Apple Mac Mini with an Intel Sandy Bridge processor. This is the only system that could be used for the Mac OS X 10.7.2 vs. Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit comparison due to hardware availability; the older Apple test systems at Phoronix no longer is supported well by Mac OS X 10.7 Lion final. The last benchmarks of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion on Phoronix were the early developer preview benchmarks.

This Mac OS X vs. Ubuntu Linux testing is being done in the same manner as earlier articles likeApple Mac OS X 10.7 DP2 Battles Ubuntu 10.10, Ubuntu 10.10 vs. Mac OS X 10.6.5: A Competitive Race, and the other Mac OS X benchmarks. The same Apple Mac Mini was used under each system. (Note: with this mid-2011 Mac Mini, the Intel CPU is a Core i5 2415M Sandy Bridge. This is a dual-core CPU with Hyper Threading, but the thread count reflected by Mac OS X was only two threads. Mac OS X 10.7.2 reported the Core i5 2415M as being a single-core part with Hyper Threading. Under Linux the correct CPU configuration was detected. Each time for these benchmarks the Phoronix Test Suite was overridden under Mac OS X to ensure four threads were used in the multi-threaded tests.)

The Phoronix Test Suite automated testing/benchmarking framework is fully supported under Mac OS X (10.5+) and Linux (along with the *BSDs and Solaris and Windows). Xcode4 is Apple's default development toolchain, which now is using LLVM with Clang as its preferred C/C++ compiler. The Phoronix Test Suite tests that are built from source were tested using the Xcode4 with Clang and then Xcode4 with its GCC fallback, which is the outdated GCC 4.2.1 release. Under Ubuntu 11.10 was obviously its stock compiler, GCC 4.6.1.

This testing is meant to be as much of an "out of the box" comparison of the operating systems as possible with considering the shipped package versions as one of the choices made by each vendor along with the default settings of each OS. Both operating systems were using the 64-bit version.

Linux Vs Windows

Users who are considering making a change from Windows to Linux or Linux to Windows commonly want to know the advantages and disadvantages of each of the operating systems. Below is a chart to help illustrate the major advantages and disadvantages of each of these operating systems.

Although Windows does have softwareprograms, utilities, and games for free, the majority of the programs will cost anywhere between $20.00 - $200.00+ US dollars per copy.
Hardware	Linux companies and hardware manufacturers have made great advancements in hardware support for Linux and today Linux will support most hardware devices. However, many companies still do not offer drivers or support for their hardware in Linux.	Because of the amount of Microsoft Windows users and the broader driver support, Windows has a much larger support for hardware devices and a good majority of hardware manufacturers will support their products in Microsoft Windows.
Security	Linux is and has always been a very secure operating system. Although it still can be attacked when compared to Windows, it much more secure.	Although Microsoft has made great improvements over the years with security on their operating system, their operating system continues to be the most vulnerable to viruses and other attacks.
Open Source	Many of the Linux variants and many Linux programs are open source and enable users to customize or modify the code however they wish to.	Microsoft Windows is not open source and the majority of Windows programs are not open source.
Support	Although it may be more difficult to find users familiar with all Linux variants, there are vast amounts of available online documentation and help, available books, and support available for Linux.	Microsoft Windows includes its own help section, has vast amount of available online documentation and help, as well as books on each of the versions of Windows.

Windows Vs Mac

For nearly two decades now, security experts have debated whether Microsoft or Apple offers superior security. The battle heated up again in the wake of news out of Black Hat about a newfound weakness in the Mac platform. However, the question of whether Microsoft or Apple is more secure is no longer even relevant: Security threats of today and tomorrow aren't as tied to specific desktop platforms as they once were.

Macs have far more theoretical vulnerabilities than Windows machines, as I wrote last week. (I am a full-time principal security analyst at Microsoft.) It's been that way for a long time. However, Macs are attacked far less because they are used less than machines running Windows. Call it security through obscurity. Now that Macs are increasing in popularity in the enterprise and beyond, though, they're no doubt on the cusp of being targeted by hackers. However, I predict that Apple will rise to the occasion and fill the vulnerability gaps. It has to, or growth will slow.

Still, the question of whether Mac or Windows is more secure is no longer relevant. The computer security paradigm is shifting at this very moment. Cloud computing, Web 2.0, and mobile technologies are exploding, and with those changes, traditional attacks are making way for a new crop that ignore platforms. Think ANSI bombs, boot sector infectors, macro viruses -- seen any of those lately?

I worry about the risks associated with cloud compromises more and more. For example, if someone compromises a public cloud product and takes over one customer's instance, how easy would it be for that person to get to all the cloud's data? I know hackers have a far easier time taking over multiple websites hosted on a single Web server than they would taking over sites hosted in separate machines. Whether you're a Mac or a Windows shop doesn't factor into the equation.

Default data syncing, too, is becoming a fact of life, and it opens new potential security holes, regardless of platform. The mere act of opening a document on any computer or device could automatically send a copy of that document into the cloud, regardless of your intention. Is it well protected in the cloud? If you then open a document on your least secure device, can that machine access all your synced cloud documents? Who else in the cloud can see my documents?

        Well the point to a blog is to help other people understand,learn,keep track of. It usually for self purposes reason.
